Flipping through pages of an art magazine recently, I stumbled upon an add for Inktense Watercolor Pencils. Having been loyal to oil paints and the simple graphite pencil all my life, I have never dabbled in watercolors. Browsing through Hobby Lobby, one of my favorite shops to look for inspiration, I found myself holding a box of these Inktense Watercolor Pencils. I must have stood in front of that shelf for a good ten, fifteen minutes, analyzing the potential purchase and trying to justify the fairly high price. But this newly discovered option seemed very intriguing. Pencils…Intense color with touch of water…Hmmm. An impulse buy, cup of water, and a paintbrush later, I was huddling over my sketchbook, experimenting with my new tools. And I’m in love!
